Shaolin Kung Fu was developed utilising traditional ways dating from the year

that Dat Mo arrived at the shaolin temple.

He devised that due to their physical and mental weaknesses the monks were unable to meditate for long periods of time. He utilises the five original animals to produce a style of martial art known as shaolin kung fu.

The original animals were Tiger, Snake, Crane, Leopard and Dragon.

The Tiger is a strong and unforgiving fighter.

The Leopard combines the rare qualities of speed and ferocity.

The snake Commands instant respect for its fiery internal strength.

The crane is known for its undying ability to concentrate.

The Dragon is the mystical predator who pulls his devastaing power from the heavens.

Singularly formidable-Together unbeatable. Shaolin kung fu.

Gavin Keir is the chief kung fu instructor ...with Eastern Kung Fu.

Having taught in EKKA, since 1997 ... Gavin has a number of sudents that have achieved Black Sash and this number continues to grow yearly.

All Black Sash gradings in Eastern Kung Fu are taken in June or December.

Western philosophy dictates that people in todays society must have their needs met as soon as possible ... this unfortunately is not possible for students of Eastern Kung Fu ... wishing to achieve their prized Black Sash.

Training starts relatively light, concentrating on such things as stance and flexibility, (not just in body, but in mind also).

As the student continues to grow mentally and physically they realise that the begining was the most important time for all, for this is where all future knowledge comes from.

To reach the Black Sash standard in EKKA your training must involve at least

four years of dedication and hard work.
